About Phyllis

For as long as Phyllis can remember, art has been a passion. Her style is constituted by expressive brushwork and color washes, influenced by the classes she took in Chinese calligraphy and Sumi-e painting as a child. Today, Phyllis is best known for her gouache and watercolor interior portraits. Spontaneous strokes and her eye for color create unique impressions that cannot be captured in a photograph.

Alongside her art practice, Phyllis is currently pursuing an MFA at the New York School of Interior Design. After nearly a decade in the finance industry, she is now excited to pursue her passion as a profession. She enjoys going to museums, running in the park, or simply browsing illustrations in a bookstore.
